Police in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region said Wednesday they had smashed a gang of youngsters engaged in rape, robbery and kidnapping, and save one female they had kidnapped.

All the nine members of the gang were detained and will be brought to court.

According to police, the nine suspects attacked and injured a number of people and kidnapped three women Tuesday night. They planned to sell the three women to a ballroom, but the owner rejected the offer for fear of violating the law.

Later, two of the women escaped, and the third was saved by police.
