Haier TV made in Jordan to be sold in the US
font size

Jordan Times reports about 150 thousand Haier color TV sets made in Jordan will be exported to the United States.

The total value of the televisions can reach 300 million US dollars. They are produced by Mideast Haier Corporation which was jointly invested by Jordan and China in 2003.

Jordan invested 72 percent which China's Haier invested the rest.

The corporation now has the capacity of not only supplying TVS to mideast countries , but also to the US and other countries.

President Imam said the joint venture is a successful example of Jordan attracting foreign investment. It was not accurate to say that China tried to export its TV sets through a third country to avoid anti-dumping methods from the US.

With more foreign investment, Jordan's export turnover has increased to 6.5 billion US dollars.
