Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu met the US delegation to the 14th meeting of the Sino-US joint team on atmospheric research, and the 25th anniversary of Sino-US protocol on atmospheric research cooperation Friday.

Hui said the Chinese government attaches great importance to Sino-US relations and the friendship between the two peoples. For a long time, Chinese and US scientists have cooperated in science and technology fields. Working together they have made prominent achievements, setting an example for international cooperation.

Expressing his hope that scientists of the two countries will continue to work together, Hui said the Chinese government will continue to support the Sino-US cooperation as always. The US delegation includes Conrad Lautenbacher, under secretary for National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the US Department of Commerce, and David L.
