Arms embargo bars development of Sino-EU ties

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson says an arms embargo on China is a major barrier to the development of Sino-European relations, reported CRIENGLISH.com.

The official reiterated that arms embargoes are relics of the Cold War adding that not only is the arms embargo detrimental to China-EU relations, but it is also an out-dated rule.

China calls for European Union countries to seriously consider lifting the arms embargo as it will benefit the development of Sino- European strategic partnerships.
