Bill Clinton hints at Hillary's White House ambition
font size

Hillary Clinton could run for the US presidency as early as in 2012, former US President Bill Clinton said Friday in Paris.

While promoting his memoir "My Life", published in France on June 23, Clinton said he and his wife are currently engaged in John Kerry's campaign to beat George W. Bush and win the presidential poll on November 2.

He described Kerry as a strong politician and said he would make a great president.

"If he wins we'll help him again (to be re-elected) in four years. And in eight years, who knows? If (Hillary) would like to apply, I'll support her," he said.

Clinton said Hillary is the most competent person he knows. But she would not run for the White House earlier because she has to fulfill her six-year mandate as a senator, Clinton said.

Hillary Clinton was elected US Senator for New York State in November, 2000.
