Chinese youngsters receive free access to the country's first juvenile science and technology exposition when it opens Friday in Beijing.
The 2004 Beijing Juvenile Science and Technology Exposition, with the theme "Youth; Science and Technology and Future," is designed to enrich youngsters' life during summer break and raise their interests in modern science and technology.
The four main venues are the China Millennium Altar, the Young Pioneer Park, the Beijing Youth Palace, the Haidian Exhibition Hall and several other museums in Beijing. There youngsters can participate in program-designing contests and interactive activities. They can also attend workshops on heated topics related to juveniles presided over by experts.
A diversity of exhibitions will be held, where visitors could learn about the latest technical innovations and environment-friendly craftwork made by youngsters.
During the five-day exhibition beginning on July 20, youngsterswill also be welcome at the Sea Life Festival, the Science FictionFestival and the Science and Technology Museum. At the Beijing Youth Palace, mini-dramas will be staged to help spread popular science.
