Philippine contingent in Iraq postpones trip back home

The trip back home of 10 members ofthe Philippine humanitarian contingent in Iraq, originally scheduled on Monday afternoon, was postponed, according to Manila international airport officials.

The 10 contingent members were rescheduled to arrive in Manila on Wednesday, an airport media affairs office official told Xinhuaby phone, without elaborating the reason for the postpone.

Earlier on Monday morning, airport media affairs office official Mylene Inguillo said the 10 members would arrive at the airport at about 4:30 p.m. Monday local time (0830 GMT).

Philippine Brigadier-General Jovito Palparan, head of the contingent, arrived on a commercial flight at the Manila international airport at 4:30 a.m. Monday local time (2030 GMT).
