Iraq to name ambassadors to 43 countries

Iraq says it will appoint ambassadors to 43 countries to help normalize relations with other nations. Foreign Minister said many ambassadors would be sent to Arab countries.During a joint news conference with US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage,

Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said the ambassadors, many of whom would be sent to neighbouring Arab countries, would be appointed Monday. CRIENGLISH.com reported Monday.

Armitage is the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit the country since the US transferred sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government three week ago.

He also discussed with other top Iraqi officials the security co-operation between the two countries and efforts to have much of Iraq's nearly 120-billion US dollars in debt forgiven.
