Iraqi insurgents free Egyptian hostage

An Egyptian held hostage by Iraqi insurgents has been freed, an Egyptian diplomatic source in Baghdad confirmed on Monday.

According to the source, the just released Egyptian truck driveris now safe in the Egyptian Embassy in Baghdad.

Alsayeid Mohammed Alsayeid Algarabawi was abducted on July 6 bya group calling itself the Iraqi Legitimate Resistance when he drove a fuel truck from Saudi Arabia to a US military base in Iraq.

After the kidnapping, the driver's Saudi company agreed to endits business in Iraq. Meanwhile, Egypt also advised its citizens to stop seeking work in the country.

Last month, another Egyptian driver, Victor Tawfiq Gerges, was released after being held hostage by militant groups in Iraq for more than two weeks.
