Wang Zhaoguo, president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, met in Beijing on July 20 with a delegation of the Japanese Trade Unions Confederation (JTUC), led by JTUC Chairman Sasamori Kiyoshi.

Wang said the Chinese trade unions federation has always attached great importance to the growth of the friendly relations with its Japanese counterpart.

To develop such a friendly relationship conforms to the interests of the two peoples including workers, said Wang.

"If we review the history of the friendship, one important experience that we can draw is that we may differ in social systems, living standards and domestic situations, so long as we take the friendship of the people as the most important thing, canwe push the friendship between the two trade unions federations forward," Wang said.

Sasamori Kiyoshi said it is his hope that his visit will help improve the exchanges and cooperation between the trade unions federations of the two countries.

The Japanese delegation is on a five-day visit at the invitation of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

Set up in 1989, the JTUC, with 6.7 million members, is the largest trade union federation in Japan.
