According to the latest information released from the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, rainfalls are mainly seen in Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei Provinces in recent two days. Due to the influence of heavy rain, water level of the Ruanjiang River has exceeded the warning line. A total of 2.677 millin people in Huaihua, Xiangxi, Changde, Zhangjiajie, Yiyang and Yue are affected by the heavy rain. In addition, some regions in Guangxi and Guizhou are stricken by flooding. However, the water level of major rivers across the country remains stable.

China has experienced the strongest rainfall in July. Part of regions is seriously stricken by flood caused by heavy rains.

By July 20, a total of 3.066 million hectares of crops and 45.74 million people are affected by flooding. A total of 381 people are killed and another 98 are missing. 197, 000 rooms collapse. The direct economic loss reaches 14.85 bln yuan.

Of the 381 victims, 288 are killed by flood, mudslide and landslide, accounting for 75 percent of the total number. The drainage area of the Yangtze River is major flood stricken area. Hunan, Yunnan, Henan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hubei and Sichuan are badly affected.
