China treasures the Sino-Vietnamese traditional friendship and will work with Vietnam to continuously promote the sound and steady growth of bilateral relations, aiming at building a good neighborhood, friendship, comrade relationship and partnership, said Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju in Beijing on July 21.

Huang, also standing committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with Truong Tan Sang, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and director of the CPV Central Committee's Economic Commission.

Huang said the relations between the two parties and the two countries, under the guidance of the principles of building long-term, steady and future-oriented good-neighborly friendship and overall cooperation, have witnessed all-round development in recent years.

He pointed to the frequent exchanges of high-level visits between the two sides, which he said have become an important impetus and guarantee for the advancement of bilateral relations, and expanding bilateral cooperation in such fields as politics, economy and exchanges between border areas and youth.

Truong Tan Sang spoke highly of China's achievements and the positive results of the exchanges and cooperation between the two parties.

He said he hoped that both sides will implement the consensus reached between leaders of the two parties and further learn from each other's ruling experiences so as to promote their economic development and bilateral friendship and cooperation.

Truong Tan Sang and his delegation, who arrived here Tuesday afternoon on a 10-day visit to China, will also visit Shanghai in east China and Guangdong in south China.
