Microsoft Corp. reported on Thursday that for the quarter ended June 30, 2004, its revenue reached of 9.29 billion US dollars and net income rose to 2.69 billion dollars.
The world's largest software maker said for the fiscal fourth quarter, its revenue and net profit recorded a 15 percent and an 82 percent increase, respectively.
Diluted earnings per share for the quarter were 25 cents, compared to diluted earnings per share of 14 cents in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year.
For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2004, Microsoft said its revenue was 36.84 billion dollars, a 14 percent increase over the 32.19 billion dollars reported last year.
The company said its net income for fiscal year 2004 was 8.17 billion dollars and diluted earnings per share were 0.75 dollar.
For the previous fiscal year, its net income and diluted earnings per share were 7.53 billion dollars and 0.69 dollar.
Microsoft expects that for the next quarter, ending Sept. 30, 2004, its revenue will be in the range of 8.9 billion dollars and 9 billion dollars and operating income in the range of 3.7 billion dollars and 3.8 billion dollars.
