Portugal midfielder Hugo Viana expressed his confidence on Thursday that his team will get a medal in the Olympic soccer tournament of Athens 2004.
The former Newcastle player, ceded for the 2004-2005 season by the English Premier League club, was presented Thursday as a reinforcement for Lisbon Sporting of Portugal first division soccer league.
Viana, 21, said Olympic soccer event was "important" and "both me and my teammates are going to work to conquer a medal."
"Being first, second or third, it will be a victory for Portugal," said the midfielder.
