China to build audit networks
font size

As learned from the national symposium of the national audit work, the National Audit Office will put up audit networks by 2007, which will facilitate audit work in units at the ministry level and finance departments, customs, state taxation administration, etc; the audit offices of provincial level and those at central cities will perform online audit in the local taxation administration, social security departments and account settlement centers.

In recent years, the audit approaches see development from on site audit to online remote audit. In 2003, by using computerized audit, the number of Audit Office's personnel participating in audit for the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China decreased to 1.1 percent of that in 1999, but the problems found per capita rose by 38 times.
