Minister calls for learning from model border police station

State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhou Yongkang Thursday called for learning from the Pali Border Police Station, which he named a model of Chinese law-enforcement departments.

Zhou, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the call at Thursday's gathering to hear a report on the border police unit, which is located in the town of Pali, in Tibet Autonomous Region.

Zhou urged people to learn from the police squad's loyalty to the CPC, the motherland, the people and the law, as well as their efforts to serve the people.

Law-enforcement units should take the responsibility of maintaining the nation's long-term stability and ensuring the happy life of the people, Zhou said.

Pali Town is close to the Sino-Indian border and is known as the highest town in the world, with an altitude of over 4,000 meters.
