Pakistan committed to strengthening economic ties with ChinaPakistani Senate Chairman Muhammad Mian Soomro Friday said Islamabad is committed to strengthening economic ties with China and hoped there will be more exchange of visits between the two countries. During a joint interview made by the Chinese media based in Islamabad prior to his visit to China, Soomro said during his stay in China, he would discuss with the Chinese leaders how to promote engagement between the Pakistani parliament and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference as well as the Chinese National People's Congress. Soomro expressed the hope that since Islamabad and Beijing enjoy "special relations," more Chinese investment could pour in Pakistan and both sides could establish more joint ventures in his country in order to further develop the Sino-Pak economic relations. Recalling his past visits to China, Soomro said China has experienced tremendous changes in the past two decades and it began to play a more and more important role in the region and even in the world. Soomro is leaving for China on a ten-day visit. He is scheduled to visit Urumqi, Xi'an, Shanghai and Beijing. |
