CPC leadership vows to further carry out macroeconomic control measures

The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee concluded at a meeting Friday in Beijing that the country's macroeconomic control efforts is paying off and should be continued in the latter half of this year.

The Political Bureau urged all Party members to fully understand the difficulty and complexity of macroeconomic control and implement macro control policies. according to official sources.

The positive effects already reaped are simply preliminary and outstanding problems in economic operation are, although somewhat eased, yet to be fundamentally resolved, the Political Bureau said.

"All Party members should never wobble their minds or slacken their efforts in work," said the meeting.

The central authorities have, in view of the problems existing in economic operation, adopted a string of policies to strengthen and improve macroeconomic control which aim at promoting grain production and increasing farmers' income, and curbing blind investment in some industries.

"Unstable and unhealthy factors in economic operation have been generally curbed," said the meeting.

"Currently, China's economy is maintaining a sound development momentum and moves towards the expected direction," it said.

"Facts proved that policies and measures taken by the central authorities are extremely necessary, timely, active and effective."

The meeting said localities and departments have closely integrated their efforts with their respective realities and summed up helpful experiences.

According to the meeting, doing a good job in the economic work of the latter half of this year is of high importance.

"The views of Party leaders at various levels should be unified towards upholding and implementing the scientific concept of development, and should be in line with the central authority's work deployment on macroeconomic control."

All localities and departments should step up efforts to focus on economic restructuring, deepening reform and improving economic growth modes so as to achieve a sustainable, rapid and coordinated economic growth and realize an all-round development of the society, said the meeting.
