    Kremlin to brings back 'Stalingrad'

    Putin ordered the name "Stalingrad" engraved on a memorial complex by the Kremlin wall, replacing Volgograd, the current name of the city where one of the bloodiest battles of World War II was fought.

    Tibetans enjoy wireless telecom service

China Telecom, one of the main telecommunication operators in China, invested 410 million RMB (approximately 50 million US dollars) in 2003 to set up a wireless telecom network in Tibet. With 17,800 households enjoying this wireless service, villagers living in remote areas in Tibet can now talk with friends throughout the world.

    89th Universal Esperanto Congress convened

    The 89th Universal Esperanto Congress convened in Beijing on July 25. The week-long conference includes seminars, exhibitions, and a Chinese cultural week. It attracted over 2,000 academicians and Esperantists from over 50 countries and regions.

    China enter quarterfinals in Asian Cup 2004

    China launches "Probe No. 2" satellite
