Oil tanker attacked near Afghan-Pakistan borderAn oil tanker was attacked by unidentified gunmen Monday in Pakistani town of Chaman, near the border with Afghanistan. The tanker was supplying fuel to US aircraft in Afghanistan, the News Network International (NNI) reported. The tanker was hit by eight bullets, causing a spillage of thousands of liters of petrol. However, there was no casualty in the firing, said NNI. The two armed attackers, riding a motorcycle, fled the scene and so far no one has claimed responsibility for it. Pakistan's border forces have cordoned off the area in an effort to capture the gunmen. The driver and cleaner of the tanker have been taken into custody for questioning. This is the second attack on oil tankers in the same area within one month, said NNI. Tribal leaders in the region have warned the local administration to stop delivering oil from Chaman "to avoid any disaster," said NNI. Source: Xinhua
