WaiGaoqiao bonded zone becomes Asian-Pacific logistics hub

The Waigaoqiao bonded zone in Shanghai is growing to become a logistics center for the Asian-Pacific region. For the first six months of the year, imports and exports of this valued 14.3 billion USD, jumping 65 percent over the same period of last year. More than 9 billion USD was from warehousing and entrepot trade, soaring up by 62 percent over the same period of last year.

Asian-Pacific countries and regions are the main partners of the warehousing and entreport trade in Waigaoqiao. Foreign funded businesses, especially multinationals, have contributed the most. For the first half of the year, their business of warehousing and transit trade reached about 8.5 billion USD, up 63 percent and that was more than 90 percent of the total.
