Macao Int'l Trade and Investment Fair slated for Oct.

The Macao International Trade and Investment Fair scheduled for Oct. 21-24 will create a platform for business people eyeing opportunities about CEPA, the organizer announced Tuesday in Macao.

As it enters the ninth year, the fair sponsored by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Macao Tower will take advantage of the mainland/Macao Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) taken effect in January this year to tap the potential markets for investors from all over the world.

Preferential trade terms under CEPA have provided local businesses a short-cut access to the mainland market, and thus enhanced Macao's attraction for worldwide investors, said Pansy Ho, chairman of the organizing committee of the ninth Macao International Trade and Investment Fair.

She said that businessmen from over 20 countries and regions have made reservations to attend the fair, which will offer 235 indoor booth and 65 outdoor booth.
