Dragonair to add Frankfurt, London Stansted to freighter network
font size

The Hong Kong Dragonair announced Tuesday that it decided to include Frankfurt in Germany and London Stansted as major points in their freighter network beginning July 29.

Chief Executive Officer of Dragonair Stanley Hui said the two points will provide Dragonair with even deeper access to central and eastern Europe and the important southern UK market.

"Demand for goods from the Chinese mainland is high in Europe and by providing additional connections between these two major markets we expect the growth momentum in our cargo operation to continue," said Hui.

"We have been progressively building up our presence and name in Europe since introducing all-cargo flights there in 2000. With the launch of services to Frankfurt and London we are moving up to the next level,"said Hui.

The two additional cities will become the ninth and 10th destinations of Dragonair's freight network. Services to Frankfurt and London Stansted will operate from Hong Kong via Dubai three times a week. The airline's Boeing 747 freighters will be used on the route.

Dragonair also flies six times a week to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Manchester in the north of the UK.
