font size

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited the National Power Control Center Monday to show his concerns over the severe electric power shortage in most parts of China.

During his visit, he urged local power authorities and relevant departments to exert their utmost to meet the power demands for the people's daily lives as well as economic and social development.

Wen also met with leading officials of the National Power Regulatory Commission and the Nation Electricity Netting company.

During his stay at the National Power Control Center, the premier called to express his gratitude on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council, or the central government, to those who have been braving the sweltering summer heat to generate electricity.

In his talks, Premier Wen called for ensuring the power supply to different users in accordance with the real situation, trying hard to increase power output, ensuring the rational distribution of power supply, sparing no effort to save power, ensuring the safe operation of power industry and trying to improve services of power industry.

Liu Qi, secretary of the Beijing municipal CPC committee, accompanied Premier Wen during the visit.
