US brutality violates human rights
font size

Recently, Zhao Yan, a businesswoman from north China's Tianjin municipality, was beaten and seriously injured for no reason by police in the United States, and her this aroused serious concern and indignation of the Chinese government and people.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, during his phone call with Powell, expressed China's strong demand that the US side do serious and thorough investigation on Zhao Yan's suffrage in terms of human rights in the United States, during her stay there, and punish hard the wrongdoers concerned.

Meanwhile, China's foreign institutions to the United States have delivered their serious representations to the United States, and the Zhao Yan's lawyer is also striving to seek justice.

Moreover, US-China trade organization also expressed strong protest against the US government on July 24. Various Chinese media, including those in the United States, reported the incident, condemning US law-enforcing departments' brutal acts violating human rights.

It was in the United States, who has always admired "democracy", "freedom" and "human rights", that Zhao Yan suffered maltreatment. The seriousness and impact of incident is driving people furious. There has been a long list of US law-enforcing departments' brutal execution, willfully trampling upon human rights.

Some of them daring despise law and human rights are obviously affected and driven by US hegemony mentality and arrogance. From the perspective of law, US government has unshakable responsibility for the scandal on hit homeland.

Over the years, the United States has always calling its "world human rights guardian", but US law-enforcing staff's such abusing their authority and violence shows people all over the world see clearly what the "human rights guardian" actually is. Justice and truth must be upheld and those who trample upon law and human rights must be punished. Zhao Yan's tragedy reminds the US government of self-warning and self-discipline in human rights issue, and also tells the world that the United States has no right at all to criticize other countries.
