A series of explosions Friday outside the US and Israeli embassies in the Uzbekistan capital of Tashkent and outside the Uzbekistan prosecutor general's office have been reported by Russia' s Interfax news agency.
An unnamed official of the Israeli embassy was quoted by Interfax as saying that a blast occurred outside its embassy and it is still unclear how many people were killed.
"The blast was presumably carried out by a male suicide bomber," he said, adding that the area surrounding the embassy had been sealed off.
Israel Radio said two Uzbek workers at the embassy were killed in the explosion but no Israelis were hurt.
An official at the US embassy told Interfax that the blast at their embassy "was set off by a man who wore a suicide belt" and that the embassy had been cordoned off and nearby traffic diverted.
Earlier on Friday, a third blast went off inside the hall of the prosecutor general's office headquarters, said Interfax.
