Kim Jong Il receives highest orders of Kingdom of Cambodia

Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, received "The Grand Cross Order of the Kingdom of Cambodia" and "The Grand Necklace Order for National Independence of the Kingdom of Cambodia", the highest orders of the Kingdom of Cambodia. An awarding ceremony was held on July 31.

Present there were His Majesty the King of Cambodia Norodom Sihanouk and Her Majesty the Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and other suite members and Cambodian Ambassador to the DPRK Oum Mannorine.

Norodom Sihanouk conferred the orders upon Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Il expressed thanks for the conferment of the orders before drinking a toast together with the king and having a photograph taken with him.
