An international exhibition of road and water transport technology and equipment will be held here from Sept. 1 to 4.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Communications, the exhibition will feature new products, new technology and new techniques in the construction of transportation projects. So far, around 280 domestic and overseas plants have applied to attend the exhibition, according to the organizing committee.

A top-level forum on the development of communications in China, also sponsored by the Ministry of Communications, will be held in Beijing concurrently with the exhibition. High-ranking officials from the ministry will talk about goals, strategies, status quo and prospects of the communications sector in China, according to the committee.

During the ongoing economic restructuring in China, the state continues to give priority to the development of the communications sector.
