Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk left Pyongyang Tuesday after winding up his goodwill visit to the Democratic people's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The official Korean Central News Agency described King Sihanouk's visit as "an important occasion in boosting the long-standing friendly relations between the two peoples."
Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Vice Premier Kwak Pom Gi, bid farewell to the king at Pyongyang's Sun-an Airport.
King Sihanouk, an old friend of the late DPRK leader Kim Il-sung, began his tour to Pyongyang on April 10.
DPRK leader Kim Jong-il visited King Sihanouk at the State Guest House on Saturday. Kim Yong-nam hosted a luncheon in honor of King Sihanouk at the State Guest House on Monday.
King Sihanouk will head for Beijing, where he will take a period of recuperation, according to officials of the Cambodian Embassy in Pyongyang.
