According to the latest information from the Ministry of Commerce, with the efforts to counteract the impacts of the foreign anti-dumping and the bird-flu, the country's export of agricultural products realized a steady growth. The export volume reached 10.5 billion US Dollars, an increase by 10.5 percent on a year-on-year basis.
There are four features in the export of agricultural products in the first half of the year.
First, the export of the superior agricultural products such as aquatic, marine and horticultural products increased comparatively fast, achieving an amount of 2.82 billion US Dollars and 2.76 billion US Dollars respectively with each increasing by 25.3 percent and 29 percent. Secondly, the export price of agricultural products increased generally. Of 30 types of staple agricultural products, the unit export prices of 27 types went up. And thirdly, the amount of export grain went down while the prices went up to some extent. In the first half of the year, the country exported 3.342 million tons of grain, which was valued at 550 million US Dollars, dropping by 63 percent and 48 percent respectively. The prices of rice, corn and wheat, which exported at the same period, increased by 23.5 percent, 30 and 23.7 percent respectively. The fourth is that, the impacts of the bird-flu on the country 's poultry meat and its products are gradually diminishing.
