Ten people were killed and ten others wounded in a train-truck collision in the Nile Delta area on Tuesday, the Egyptian Interior Ministry said.
"The crash occurred when a train coming from Cairo and heading toward the governorate of Sharqiya, about 65 km north of Cairo, collided with a truck that crossed an undesignated part of the railway," the ministry said in a statement.
The injured were farmers from the nearby village, who were takento hospital for treatment, the statement said.
It added that the truck was later pulled out and the railway traffic was restored to normal.
