The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), China's securities watchdog, plans to invite overseas Chinese scholars and professionals to join the team of regulators to promote the reform and opening up of China's capital market and to strengthen its regulatory force, a CSRC official announced here Tuesday.
According to the CSRC requirements, candidates should be familiar with domestic and overseas capital markets, know of trends and developments in international capital markets and have certain operational or managerial experience in the securities, futures or financial sector overseas, and a sound theoretical base, good team spirits and deep professional dedication are also required.
The candidate should at least hold an overseas bachelor's degree in law or accounting, or a master's degree in economics, finance, management or English, the CSRC official said, adding that law majors should have domestic law degrees or more than three years relevant working experience in China.
A minimum of three years working experience with foreign securities regulatory agencies, securities companies, securities intermediaries (law firms or accounting firms), foreign banks, international financial organizations or other financial institutions are also required, required the CSRC.
In addition, the mastery of both Chinese and English is also a must, and the candidate should be in good health.
According to the CSRC requirements, preference will be given to candidates with lawyer or accountant certificates issued by developed countries.
The overseas scholars and professionals would be assigned to corresponding posts in various CSRC departments after one year's probation period and senior overseas employees would also enjoy extra housing and transportation allowance, said the CSRC official.
