HK's business expected to grow in third quarterThe volume of business and output in Hong Kong's all sectors is expected to surge in the third quarter, according to the Census and Statistics Department's quarterly business tendency survey released on Monday. The study gathered views on the short-term business outlook from the senior management of about 490 prominent establishments in various sectors. The manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail, import and export trade, restaurants and hotels, transport and related services, banks, financing and insurance, and real estate, business services and telecommunications sectors all anticipate a brighter third quarter. The construction sector expects the number of jobs to drop, while the manufacturing sector and the import-export trade generally anticipate no change.
