Rolls-Royce will auction three Centenary Phantoms, extremely expensive and historic cars, in three top Chinese mainland cities.
According to Colin Kelly, who is responsible for Rolls-Royce's Asian-Pacific business, just 35 of these exceptional cars have been hand-manufactured for the global market in a bid to celebratethe company's century of excellence.
Thoughtfully contemplated and carefully selected, these three limited edition Centenary Phantoms will be presented in three prime locations, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing, said Mr. John Wong, General Manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars China.
To reinforce the significance of the Centenary Phantom, each ofthe 35 cars is hallmarked with a polished cast chassis vehicle plate indicating its numerical position within the series.
The numbers for the cars to be sold in China -- the only three to have pure-gold Spirit-of-Ecstasy emblems -- are eight, 18 and 35.
Centenary Phantom number 8 will be auctioned in Beijing on August 28. The bidding price will start at RMB 9.88 million, Wong said.
According to the company, the Centenary Phantom captures the essence of today's advanced technology combined with Rolls-Royce's100 years of authentic craftsmanship.
