font size

The Taiwan authorities are deep in debts. It is estimated that unpaid debts balance of governments at various levels would approach 3.9 trillion Taiwan Dollars by the end of this year far higher than the 2.6 trillion four years ago.

Over the last four years the interest burden of the Taiwan authorities has accumulated to 600 billion Taiwan Dollars. The situation can only be described as "debts on top of debts". It was learned that currently most counties and cities in China's Taiwan are lacking financial resources. Some counties and cities have financial revenues only 10 percent of their expenses.
