    Tibetan prison honored Modern Prison for the first time

    The Prison of Tibet Autonomous Region attaches great importance to the education of the prisoners here, who have access to schools and libraries for them. Teaching staff here give ideological, cultural and vocational courses for the prisoners for more than 500 hours a year. Most of the prisoners have one or two technical skills when they are set free as their term of imprisonment due. The efforts of the prison in caring about the living conditions of its prisoners have been paid off by its honor of Modern Prison granted by the judiciary authorities of the autonomous region. The prison, built in 1960, is located in a suburban area of Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region.

    China's first naked-swimming waters

    Pilot stores for Olympic products

    The pilot stage of the Licensed Products Programme of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad was launched Thursday, August 5, with the opening of 10 retail stores in Beijing.

    US confirms its embassy in India closed

In light of security concerns, the Consular (visa) Section and the Department of Homeland Security-Immigration Office at the U.S. Embassy and the Information Resource Center (American Library) at the American Center in New Delhi closed to the public on Thursday.     Tajiks enjoy a better level of living
