Russia has declared the Lithuanian military attache in Moscow persona non grata and told him to leave the country within two days, the Foreign Ministry said Friday.
The foreign ministry said in a statement that the Lithuanian charge d' affaires was summoned to the ministry and was informed that Sigitas Butkus, the Lithuanian military attache, has been declared personas non grata because of his activities that "damage Russia's interests".
He has been given 48 hours to leave Russia, the statement said.
In March, Russia expelled three Lithuanian diplomats following three Russian diplomats were deported from the Baltic country in February.
