Churches in Chinese mainland have the full capacity to taking the responsibility to run well, President of the China Christian Council (CCC) Cao Shengjie said here Friday at a reception.

She noted that the ongoing Exhibition of Bible Ministry of the Churches in China, the first of its kind held here by the churches in the mainland, is designed to show the above-mentioned fact.

Cao made clear that the council welcomes the support without strings attached from the churches and church organizations outside of China. She added resource sharing as seen in the exhibition is based on the need of the Chinese churches instead of the need of the donors, and conducted in a sincere, open and lawful way.

"We welcome more overseas exchanges of ideas and will explore more possibilities in cooperation," the president said.

The exhibition, scheduled from Aug. 6 to 10, is organized by the National Committee of Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China and the China Christian Council.

David Wong, voluntary general secretary of the Hong Kong Bible Society noted that this exhibition is truly a historic event to "proclaim God's love and blessing to the churches and Bible ministry works" in China's mainland.

The growth of the mainland churches and the expansion of the Bible ministry works in the mainland in the last 20 years are tremendous, Wong said, adding that the exhibition gives the Christians in Hong Kong, including the younger ones, a rare opportunity to know more about the churches in China's mainland and the wonderful work going on there.

Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Ding Guangxun, who is also the honorary president of the China Christian Council, was also present at the reception, attended by guests from countries including the United States, Singapore, South Korea and Japan.
