The 53rd General Assembly of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA)ended Sunday in Ohrid, southwestern Macedonia, the MIA news agency reported.
During the six-day meeting, more than 700 delegates from 82 countries discussed such issues as medicine education, public and reproductive health, AIDS, refugees, professional research and student exchanges, and there was also a special thematic session called "Health and Violence".
Andreas Rudyobing from Denmark was elected as new president of the federation, replacing the current Emily Spray.
The IFMSA, founded in May 1951, is officially recognized as a non-governmental organization within the United Nations.
