Senior Chinese official meets Namibian guestsChina attaches great importance to developing its cooperative ties with all African trade unions including the National Union of Namibian Workers, said Wang Zhaoguo, president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), here Monday afternoon. Wang, also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, made the remarks when meeting with the delegation of the National Union of Namibian Workers, led by its President Risto Kapenda. Wang said strengthening and developing solidarity and cooperation with African trade unions is an important part of the ACFTU's foreign policy. He said the ACFTU is willing to further consolidate and develop friendly ties with the National Union of Namibian Workers based onthe principles of independence, equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs. The Namibian delegation is on a China visit from Aug. 2 to 10 as the ACFTU's guest. Besides Beijing, the delegation also visitedChangchun and Dalian, two northern Chinese cities. Source: Xinhua
