Red Cross distributes 8.5 mln yuan to disaster-hit areas
font size

The Red Cross Society of China has allocated 8.5 million yuan in relief funds to 14 disaster-hit

provinces, sources from the society's headquarters said Monday.

The Red Cross sent disaster relief material including rice, flour, tent, clothes and blankets to the

disaster-stricken areas.

By the end of July, natural disasters across the country, such as floods, drought, landslide and mud-rock flow, had affected more than 70 million people, demolished more than one million rooms and caused over 20 billion yuan of economic losses.

The headquarters of Red Cross Society of China has asked all its subordinate bodies to vigorously mobilize social resources to donate funds and material for natural disasters victims.
