Lebanese hostage released in Iraq

Lebanese businessman Antoine Antoun kidnapped July 31 in Iraq was released on Tuesday, his family said.

Antoun has called the family from Iraq and said he was free and in good health, his relatives said.

Antoun had been held hostage since a gang of armed men burst into his dairy in Baghdad. He is expected return home within a few days.

The release raised to two the number of Lebanese freed in Iraq in 24 hours. Another Lebanese hostage in Iraq, truck driver Qassem Merqbawi, was released on Monday.

It was reported that a total of some 15 Lebanese have been snatched in Iraq since US-led invasion on Iraq in March last year.

There are three other truckers still being held by kidnappers inIraq.
