Liu promises Beijing Olympics can bring great changes to China

Liu Jingmin, executive vice president of the Beijing Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games, promised Thursday that the Olympics will for sure bring great positive changes to Beijing and the whole China.

"The 2008 Olympic Games will bring a lot of positive impact upon the city of Beijing and China," Liu told reporters at a press conference.

"The Olympics will accelerate the social and economic development in Beijing and China."

He pledged that Beijing after the 2008 Olympic Games will take a new look and people in Beijing and China will all benefit from the Olympics.

"We will have cleaner air in Beijing, and the transportation will be improved to a very high standard.

"Through the Olympic Games, we will bring a lot of conveniences to all walks of life."
