Blasts hit two Spanish cities
font size

Explosions have hit two Spanish coastal cities, injuring at least one person, according to a report from China Radio International.

A 78-year-old man was slightly injured when two bombs went off on Thursday within 10 minutes in the popular holiday towns of Santander and Gijon.

The explosions came soon after warning calls in the name of armed Basque separatist group ETA were made to Basque nationalist newspaper Gara and another daily.

ETA often calls Gara to warn of impending attacks and local officials had no doubt Basque militants were to blame.

ETA, seeking separation of Basque from Spain, is considered a terrorist organization due to its numerous bomb attacks.
