More than 150 people from the literature circle attended a workshop here Friday to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997).
The speakers recalled Deng's care about the literature circle and pledged to further study Deng's theory of the arts.
Jin Binghua, vice chairman of the China Writers Association, addressed the meeting, saying that writers should produce more great works and contribute the best spiritual food to the people.
Present at the gathering was Li Congjun, deputy director of thePublicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) CentralCommittee.
