The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) President Chea Sim on Saturday met with the visiting Chinese delegation headed by He Yong, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Community Party of China (CPC).
Both sides praised the development of bilateral relationship since diplomatic ties between the two countries were established 46 years ago.
Chea Sim, also president of the Senate and acting head of state, stressed that to strengthen the cooperation of the two countries not only conforms to the common interest of both Cambodia and China but also benefits to the peace, stability and development of the region.
He also reaffirmed that the royal government of Cambodia will continue to adhere to the "one-China" policy, always recognize Taiwan as an inalienable part of Chinese territory and support China's cause of reunification.
He Yong said that in recent years both sides have witnessed continuous exchanges of visit at high levels that have further deepen mutual understanding and trust, so as to be good neighbors, good friends and good partners forever.
He Yong, also deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, stressed that Chinese government very much values the traditional and friendly Sino-Cambodia ties and respects the social system chosen by the Cambodian people themselves and the development model that is suited to the conditions of Cambodia.
The CPC delegation arrived here on Friday morning to pay a four-day friendly visit at the invitation of the CPP and FUNCINPEC party. On Friday, He Yong held talks with FUNCINPEC party Secretary General Prince Norodom Sirivudh.
