Chinese leader sends congratulations to Olympic delegation for winning first gold medal

State Councilor Chen Zhili on Saturday phoned Yuan Weimin, head of the Chinese Olympic delegation to Athens, to congratulate him and the Chinese team for China's first gold medal in the Olympic Games.

Chen was entrusted by Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC (Communist Party of China) Central Committee.

Athens Olympics' first gold medal was won by Chinese markswoman Du Li in the 10-shot final Saturday at noon.
