Zhao Ruirui may miss Olympics
font size

Chinese women's volleyball star Zhao Ruirui may miss the 28th Olympic Games after she had her right leg fractured again in a match against the United States on Saturday.

Richard Baker, press officer of the International Federation de Volleyball (FIVB), confirmed the news, citing that Zhao Ruirui could probably have to quit the Olympics.

Zhao, who had been sidelined since fracturing her right leg in late March, started for the Chinese team but left the court with pain when China trailed 2-1 in the opening set.

Several minutes later, Zhao was stretchered out from the bench.
