| Four golds for China's first day in Athens |
|
 Chinese win four golds on first day of Athens Olympic Games. The champions are shooters Du Li, Wang Yifu, divers Guo Jingjing, Wu Minxia, and Tian Liang and Yang Jinghui.
 Chinese Du Li won the women's 10m air rifle gold medal with a score of 502 points at the Olympic Games Saturday in Athens. Chinese Zhao Yinghui wins the fourth place.

 At local time on August 14 in Athens, Guo Jingjing and Wu Mingxia scored a third goldmedal for China in Synchronised 3 meters springboard.
