Chinese Zhao sent to hospital after injury

Chinese women's volleyball star Zhao Ruirui was sent to hostipal after an unsuccesful comeback Saturday in China's opening match at the Athens Olymics against the United States.

"She was sent to hospital for x-rays," a senior official from the International Federation de Volleyball (FIVB) told Xinhua.

Zhao, who had not played in any official games since fraturing her right leg late this March due to a seriuos leg injury, started for the Chinese team but left the court with pain when China trailed 2-1 in the opening set.

Several minutes later, Zhao was stretchered out from the bench.
